Australia shares weaker after uncertain data

MELBOURNE, June 1 (Reuters) - Australian stocks slipped 0.4 percent on Tuesday, after unconvincing economic data and some cautious remarks from the central bank left investors with few reasons to buy the market. With U.S. and UK markets closed overnight on Monday for public holidays, volumes were light. The only offshore signal came from China, Australia's biggest trading partner, where industrial production data pointed to moderating growth.
