Australia stocks bounce 2 pct, trade still thin

  SYDNEY, July 14 (Reuters) - Australian stocks jumped 2 percent on Tuesday, led by global miner BHP Billiton BHP.AX, but extremely thin volumes exaggerated gains, with uncertainty over next month's earnings season keeping investors away. The market tracked gains in U.S. stocks on Monday, when an upbeat analyst forecast about banks raised hopes the banks may post decent earnings in the upcoming results season.
